The Ministry of Health has received a thousand female condoms, donated by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and these are now available at the district clinics and hospital pharmacy. HIV/AIDS Coordinator Anjella Skerritt explains that female condoms give women more control over their reproductive life, since they can choose this method independently, and insert the condom themselves before sexual activity. This will help to prevent sexually transmitted infections like HIV/AIDS and also allow women to plan their pregnancies.
